SkyView Monitoring Software
Skyview lets you download, graph and export your system's energy production history. Skystream™ stores daily energy production to an onboard memory chip and has capacity for several years’ worth of data. In addition Skyview includes expandable diagnostics capability, a cumulative performance table, radio signal strength indicator, carbon footprint information and instant performance display.

Free Personal Wind Energy Assessment with Sitelook

Southwest Windpower now has an on-line site assessment tool called Sitelook, which will allow interested customers to conduct a site evaluation based on their address and their monthly energy use. You can check it out for yourself at: http://www.windenergy.com/assessment

Only the Certified Skystream dealers will receive an email with the contact information on the qualified lead (s) near their area. Quality ratings are indicated on every email.

Southwest Windpower has had this program active in the U.S. since May and it has already generated over 25,000 hits or approximately 123 per day. Of those, 6,500 have become leads sent out to the local Certified Skystream Dealer for their follow up. The program has just gone live in Canada and there is a French version which can be accessed as well by clicking on the French flag icon.

AIR Stop Switch
We recommend the installation of an AIR series stop switch to short circuit the output for servicing or during storm conditions. The short circuit acts like a brake and slows the wind generator enough for over current protection on the wiring and to be stopped by hand. The stop switch can be installed anywhere between the wind generator and the batteries.

Wind Turbine Tower kits
By far, the most important aspect of a wind turbine installation is the tower assembly. Southwest guyed towers are the standard for simple and durable wind installations. These towers are designed for easy tilt-up to simplify erection and have precut wires and hardware needed for a safe installation. All parts are threaded, so no welding required. Pipe and anchors are excluded.

For most conditions, we recommend a "schedule 40" pipe material. This offers a wall thickness of .125" which is strong enough to resist most wind conditions. If you are using fence pipe material, make sure you ask for "SS40". If you live in an environment where your winds will never exceed 80 mph (140 km) then we suggest using a thinner wall material such as a "schedule 20". In conduit material, this is called "SS20".
