Motion Sensor
This passive infrared motion sensor detects heat and movement to activate 12 VDC lighting and is UL rated for outdoor use in wet locations. The sensor includes sensitivity adjustment and an adjustable timer for 5 sec. to 12 minutes. Range 50' x 110 degrees wide. Includes swivel base. 96 watt light capacity.

What are LED's?
A light emitting diode (LED) generates photons, or light, as electrons move from a negatively to a positively charged semiconductor. Chemical elements within the semiconductor determine the frequency or colour of the light. The Japanese were the first in 1994 to dope their diodes with indium gallium nitride to create the first bright blue LED, which when combined with existing red and green produces white.

LEDs have several advantages over conventional incandescent lamps. For one thing, they don't have a filament that will burn out, so they last much longer. But the main advantage is efficiency. In conventional incandescent bulbs the light-production process involves generating a lot of heat which is completely wasted energy. LEDs generate very little heat, relatively speaking. A much higher percentage of the electrical power is going directly to generating light. While they may be more expensive than incandescent lights up front, their lower cost in the long run can make them a better buy.
