Release Hydro Quebec approves Ecocentre Riveire des Prairies hybrid grid-tie installation. Montreal, January, 2005 Hydro Quebec announced today that it has accepted the installation of Quebec’s first solar and wind grid-connected system originally provided by Matrix Energy Inc. in October 2003. According to Richard Grenier, Hydro Quebec’s Commercialization Manager, the installation conforms to all of their safety and technical specifications and may now begin production of electricity in parallel with Hydro-Quebec. Steps are now underway to allow the Ecocentre to receive credit for the excess energy produced by the 1kW wind turbine and 1.5 kWp solar array.
