Destratification System
Our CoandAir® system combines incoming fresh air and stratified heat for effective and highly energy efficient building ventilation. |
Ideal cases for using Coandair ® System
It is ideally suited for buildings with exothermic manufacturing processes, variable ventilation requirements or plants with localized hot and cold spots.
The heating of industrial space is typically achieved by installing unit heaters or coils near the ceiling. Buildings with this type of heating may experience localized overheating or cold spots due to negative pressure, high ceilings or tightly arranged racking. Since air becomes lighter as it is heated, it tends to travel upwards toward the ceiling. Heaters can be configured to blow downwards, but the air will rise up and may even be directly drawn through the exhaust system. If the building is not insulated properly, it will lose heat through the roof.
How the system works
Using our CoandAir® system, the colder outside air will be projected into your plant's atmosphere, in jet-like streams. The hole size, position, velocity, static pressure and duct size are all optimized for each installation in order to reuse or recuperate the energy at the ceiling level. We ensure maximized ventilation effectiveness through measured destratification and the effective application of the Coanda effect to reduce heat losses via the roof of the building.
Benefits of the Coandair® System
- Energy efficiency
By combining incoming fresh air with stratified ceiling air, heating loads and the building's heat losses via the roof are minimized. - Air quality
Fresh outside air may be introduced into the plant to replace exhausted air resulting in superior air quality, a key factor in the productivity of personnel. - Uniform air distribution
The CoandAir® system introduces and distributes incoming air evenly throughout the plant eliminating overheated zones, cold spots and drafts, thus removing the need for inefficient ceiling fans. - Energy and cost savings
Using Natural Resources Canada's SWIFTTM program, we can accurately determine your energy savings and fresh air ventilation rates. For this analysis, please complete the contact us form at the end of this section. - Cooling
The installation of an optional baffle within our duct improves summer cooling.
Benefits of the Coandair® System
| The CoandAir® fan unit is complete with integrated temperature control, and modulating dampers. When starting the unit, the fresh air and recirculating air dampers will modulate until a minimum preset discharged temperature is reached. | ![]() |
